Job Description:
The Urban Community Leadership Academy (UCLA) Charter Middle School's mission is to provide its diverse student the best possible educational opportunities by focusing on a strongly affirmed academic foundation through a multidisciplinary project based learning curriculum.
UCLA is currently seeking an Instructional Coach. Instructional coaches are expected to communicate and interact effectively by using the skills and tools of Cognitive Coaching. This person must have the ability to demonstrate effective lesson planning and delivery and understand how to implement staff development standards.
Essential functions include: Knowledge about core reading and math programs as well as core and supplemental intervention programs and the ability to provide direct training and support to teachers in the implementation of those programs; Knowledge of State and District Standards with curriculum maps, rubrics, differentiated and sheltered instruction; and use and interpretation of student assessment data for instructional planning.
The instructional coach will work collaboratively with school leadership to design, implement and assess the school's Academic Improvement Plan and Response to Intervention processes; facilitate data analysis conversations with grade level or content area teachers and have other collaborative conversations; provide job-embedded professional development and feedback for teachers; conduct action research on their work; support the principal and other teacher leaders in the design and development of school-wide professional development.
