Minimum Qualifications
- Near native fluency in spoken and written English and French
- A license to teach in Missouri or other state (early childhood education, elementary or middle school education, K-6, or K-8) or ability to teach in the country in which the teacher received their training
- Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, language, or a closely related field
Nice-to-Haves- Skills and qualities that are a plus but not necessarily a requirement
- Teaching experience in K-8 classroom
- Strong data tracking and interpretation habits
- Solid understanding of academic and behavioral strategies for students with various needs
- Knowledge of best practices when working with language learners
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in core content areas (literacy, math, science, etc.) to both elementary and middle school students in French and English
- Ensures safety of students by providing active supervision
- Builds strong relationships based on mutual respect across dimensions of difference with students, families, and all stakeholders
- Provides appropriate, research-based scaffolds and differentiates instruction
- Develops and uses an effective classroom culture plan
- Collects and analyzes data, and uses it to drive decisions
- Prepares and implements daily lessons aligned to the curriculum
- Provides high-quality and consistent input in the language of instruction per the dual language model
