Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirement and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
- Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results for instructional activities.
- Work cooperatively with other teachers to modify curricula as needed for students.
- Work with other members of the staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to MMA requirements.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned; sponsor outside activities.
- Be a positive role model for students; support mission of school.
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Cadet Handbook and Academic Procedures Manual.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, teachers, and dean.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (classroom, campus, hallways, restrooms, field trips, etc.).
- Attends extra-curricular activities (e.g. sports activities, student centered activities, concerts, music programs, district programs, etc.) for the purpose of supporting students and staff in school functions and ensuring continued rapport with students and staff.
